American Psyc Oud
Some fragrances are meant to make you feel desirable.
This one is meant to make you feel watched.
American Psyc Oud was built around a contradiction: immaculate on the surface, rotten underneath.
It opens with the polished chill of excess—icy fruit sorbet, crisp Chardonnay, bergamot, and a cool mint accord that feels almost cosmetic. Clean skin. Perfect hair. A pressed collar. Everything arranged exactly as it should be.
At first, it smells expensive.
Then it starts to feel unsettling.
Lavender, cardamom, clove, and sharp Sichuan pepper cut through the heart like fluorescent office light against polished glass. There is something clinical about it. Something sterile. A fragrance that feels less worn than assembled.
And beneath all of it, the mask begins to slip.
Cold metallic notes rise against dark agarwood—raw, leathery, animalic oud with none of the sweetness usually used to soften it. It smells lived-in. Fermented. Almost decayed.
As if something unspeakable were hidden beneath a perfectly tailored suit.
Then comes the indulgence.
Crème brûlée. Tonka bean. Cigar tobacco.
The smell of wealth continuing uninterrupted.
Dinner reservations. Mahogany tables. Expensive liquor. A city glowing through penthouse windows while something darker lingers just out of sight.
American Psyc Oud is not a clean fragrance.
It only pretends to be.
A polished exterior over an animal heart.
Cold ambition. Expensive taste. Beautiful decay.
